Crif Dogs is your quintessential hot dog joint. A ton of different dogs, toppings and a pic of a woman riding a hot dog painted on the wall. Need I say more?
Crif Dogs in the East Village and in Williamsburg, was started by childhood friends Brian and Chris who came up with the name when Brian tried to say his partner’s name with a hot dog in his mouth. Decorated with original table top 80’s video games (loving the Ms PacMan), Mr T and Star Wars dolls (Willamsburg location), but the main attraction is the dogs and the weird and wacky flavours. You can get your dog topped with cream cheese, baked beans, coleslaw, chili, avocado and…egg? Or go for the house dogs like one of the most popular The Chihuahua which is a bacon wrapped hot dog with sour cream and avocado or the Tsunami which is a bacon wrapped hot dog with pineapple, teriyaki and green onions or The Spicy Redneck Dog a bacon wrapped hot dog with chili, coleslaw, and jalapeños or even more bizarre/yum….Lil Ma a bacon wrapped hot dog with peanut butter, pickles and potato chips.
Crif Dogs are a little small but oh so good. Grab two, a beer and some tater tots while enjoying a game of Ms PacMan.
